KDoubles Take: My thoughts on the WWE SummerSlam PPV…

First let’s take a look at the card so far….

PPV: (Grudge Match, Singles Match) Dean Ambrose vs. MiTB Winner Seth Rollins

PPV: (IC Title Match, Singles Match) The Miz © vs. Dolph Ziggler

PPV: (Grudge Match, Singles Match) Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns

PPV: (Diva’s Title Match, Singles Match) AJ Lee © vs. Paige

PPV: (Flag Match, Singles Match) Jack Swagger vs. Alexander Rusev

PPV: (Grudge Match, Singles Match) Brie Bella vs. Stephanie McMahon

PPV: (Grudge Match, Singles Match) Bray Wyatt vs. Chris Jericho

PPV: (Main Event)(WWE Title Match, Singles Match) John Cena © vs. Brock Lesnar

PPV: (Grudge Match, Singles Match) Dean Ambrose vs. MiTB Winner Seth Rollins: This was a match that I had high hopes for from the last WWE PPV BattleGround, needless to say I was entertained but I was not impressed. All I got was a backstage segment and a in ring segment. Hopefully we should get a actual match, and it should be a doosey with the way these two guys go in their matches we should see a lot of high spots and a brutal beating by Ambrose. I expect Rollins to win the match though, because I don’t think this will be the final match in this feud. Winner: Rollins….

PPV: (IC Title Match, Singles Match) The Miz © vs. Dolph Ziggler: The Miz exploded back onto the scene and took the Battle Ground Battle Royal by deceiving Dolph Ziggler who had thought that he won the title. This feud has not been very exciting to watch but part of that is the face that the Miz is not an exciting wrestler. Ziggler on the other hand is always fun to watch in ring so I expect this to be a fun match to watch with Ziggler dominating most of the match. But the win will go to the Miz, with a movie coming out and the Miz as the leading man no reason for him to drop the strap now. Winner: Miz ©

PPV: (Grudge Match, Singles Match) Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns: This is a feud I kind of can wait for it to be over; Randy Orton has given me plenty of great matches in his time in the WWE. I am not a huge fan of Orton but I can respect his talent. The only good thing I can say about this match is that it should be a brutal match. Watching these two guys go at it should make for a good match to watch. As for the winner, the winner should be Reigns mainly because he is the one on his way upward right now and that ride should continue. Winner: Reigns…

PPV: (Diva’s Title Match, Singles Match) AJ Lee © vs. Paige: The buildup has seen Paige come into her own on the mike. She has taken to the role of antagonist very well. Will she finally win her Diva’s title back at the biggest event of the summer? That unfortunately is something that I don’t think is going to happen. Unfortunately I see this feud going on another month or so, even if Paige wins the title AJ will continue to come after it and will probably be the number one contender at the next PPV. But I do believe that AJ will retain the title this time. Winner: AJ Lee ©

PPV: (Flag Match, Singles Match) Jack Swagger vs. Alexander Rusev: This is a gimmick match, so much so that even the WWE isn’t completely clear on how the rules of this match work. At Summer Slam we will find out how a superstar wins this match. The feud between Swagger and Rusev has given the crowd a reason to get behind Swagger and has made Rusev one of the most hated men in the WWE. Even though it won’t be a pin fall or submission loss I expect Swagger to win this match and basically end the feud. Winner: Swagger…

PPV: (Grudge Match, Singles Match) Brie Bella vs. Stephanie McMahon: This is not going to be a match; this is going to be a fight. I expect these two women to go at it the fact that Stephanie hasn’t been in the ring in over 10 years I don’t think will affect the quality of this fight. But as for the end result I expect Brie to win via submission or pin fall, Steph will dominate the match for the bulk of it but Brie will bring home the victory. Can she do it yes she can, will she do it going to have to wait till Sunday. Winner: Brie Bella…

PPV: (Grudge Match, Singles Match) Bray Wyatt vs. Chris Jericho: With this being the 2nd matchup between these two on a main event stage and the last match was pretty darn awesome. I expect this one to be another solid match with both men beating the hell out of each other. If you watched this week’s RAW then you know this has been a intense feud that will come to a head I a matchup that I expect Wyatt to get the win as he lost the 1st match. Winner: Wyatt…

PPV: (Main Event)(WWE Title Match, Singles Match) John Cena © vs. Brock Lesnar: In what should be the most brutal match of the PPV the perpetual good guy Cena takes on the Beast that is Brock Lesner. Cena will have will moments and there will be moments in which you think that all will be as it should and Cena will win at that moment Brock Lesnar will crush the Cenation and will take the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Winner: Lesnar ©…

KDoubles Take: Should there be a World Cup of Wrestling?...This guy thinks so…

Now there are a lot of people that may disagree with me but I do think that this would be a once every four years gimmick that could work. For people who have read my columns before you know that I am not the biggest fan of TNA, but back in the early 2000’s TNA had a pretty good product. They had a lot of the originals still at their peak guys like AJ Styles and James Storm and a X Division that had the likes of Kaz and Christopher Daniels also Samoa Joe. So to my point they carried on a tournament that was pretty much what I am talking about. It was called the World X tournament and it resulted in some of the best moments and matches in the company’s history. Now what I was figuring was that the WWE could do something similar in working with the bigger independent wrestling promotions about once every four years to put together a tournament. Could you imagine it, this tournament if booked correctly could give fans matchups like AJ Styles vs. Dean Ambrose or Samoa Joe vs. Roman Reigns or even better you could have some of the top independents wrestlers facing off against the likes of John Cena and The Miz. Just use the best of the best I a 24-36 man tournament and each man will represent his own country and you could run a tag team version of the same tournament and make it a PPV. Once again I am not anyone with any kind of inside knowledge of the business just a wrestling fan  who thinks that it would be pretty darn cool to see a tournament like this put together once every four years… Cant a guy dream?...

KDoubles Take: WWE BattleGround PPV Review…

7 Match Card…

(2 out of 3 Falls Match)(WWE Tag Team Title Match) © The USO’s vs The Wyatts – Winner: © USO’s 2-1 – This match was amazing from open to close, the first fall went to the Wyatt’s and it was deserving they dominated the beginning of the match. The next two falls went to the champs and it was a spectacular match with a lot of high spots for both teams. Can’t wait to see these two go at it again!!!...

(Singles Match)(Grudge Match) Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins – Winner: Rollins via Forfeit – Ambrose attacks Rollins while he is cutting a promo backstage talking about cashing in the MiTB briefcase. This leads to HHH intervening and kicking Ambrose out of the building leading to them moving on to the next match. Rollins comes out later in the PPV and has himself announced as the winner of the match via forfeit. After accepting his win and going to leave Rollins is attacked by Ambrose and they fight into the crowd before Ambrose is escorted out…

(Singles Match)(Divas Title Match) © AJ Lee vs. Paige – Winner:  © AJ Lee via Pin fall – This match was two things a) fun to watch both girls definitely had some great spots  and gave it their all to have a good match and b) This feud is far from over as I see these two making for a nice resurgence of the Diva’s division…

(Singles Match)(Grudge Match) Alexander Rusev w/Lana vs. Jack Swagger w/Zeb Colture – Winner: Rusev via Coutout – This was a great match wit watch and the ending was a little bit chilling. Rusev knocked out Swagger outside the ring, as Swagger had the Patriot lock applied Rusev flung him into the ring post which allowed Rusev to get back in the ring before the 10 count. Post match Rusev put Swagger in the accolade to punish him…

(Singles Match)(Grudge Match) Bray Wyatt vs. Chris Jericho – Winner: Jericho via Pin Fall – This match was amazing as both of these guys left it on the line. It took staying resilient and the eventual code breaker for the great Y2J to pull off this victory. This was a match for the ages as I will tell you that this is not the end of this feud and I for one am excited…

(Battle Royal)(Intercontinental Title Match) 20 Man Battle Royal for the IC Title – Winner: © The Miz – This was a match that was chaotic from the beginning and that was what made it so fun to watch. It took 8 guys to drop Khali and Kofi had multiple moments in this match which is why he is put in these matches. Kind of like why Shelton Benjamin was in so many ladder matches, he ruled at them, In the end it came down to Ziggler and Sheamus and just when you thought that Ziggy was your new champ the Miz sneaks in and wins becoming the NEW Intercontinental Champion…

(Fatal Four Way Match)(WWE World Heavyweight Championship) © John Cena vs. Randy Orton vs. Kane vs. Roman Reigns – Winner: © Cena via Pin Fall – This was a match that was expected to bring the house down and it did exactly that. There were a lot of great spots and Roman Reigns had another breakout match in the main event of this PPV. Cena managed to survive a tremendous onslaught to hit Orton with a AA on top of Kane that was enough for him to get the three count and retain the titles…

KDoubles Take: Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns…which one is ready for a championship run??

As I take a look back at the past couple of years since the Shield debuted on the main roster. I see a path of destruction that was laid out that included multiple top stars in the company. For a long time this irritated me and I got tired of seeing the Shield destroy wrestler after wrestler in these 3 on 1 and 3 on 3 situations. They destroyed John Cena and the Rock hell they even destroyed the Undertaker and sent him off into the sunset. The Shield at point seemed like a completely unstoppable force, was this trio of wrestlers going to be the most dominant force in the WWE’s history? There was a time when it seemed like that and I was disturbed by the thought of these guys having a long term run as a team. Then here comes the Evolution feud and the in evitable split of the strongest team in the company. This had impact because at the time they seemed as if they were stronger than ever, but alas the “Hounds of Justice” were no more. In my eyes this is a very good thing all three members of the Shield already had their own unique personalities and all three are ready to launch themselves into (hopefully) a successful singles careers. This next list is not in order of how big of a star they are but in order of when I think they will get the title run each of them deserves…

Roman Reigns – My thoughts on this are simple Reigns is the 1st one really put into the Main Event picture when he won the Battle Royal to secure his spot in the MiTB WWE WHC match. Now don’t get me wrong this won’t be any time in the near future. Reigns will go through a couple more main event feuds against people like John Cena and Randy Orton, ect before he finally gets his title shot. That title shot will come early next year as Reigns will finally have his Wrestlemania moment!!!

Seth Rollins (Mr. Money in the Bank) – Rollins will wait until the right moment to cash in his MiTB briefcase, that moment will be Wrestlemainia 31!! Right after Reigns has his big moment beating whoever they have him face for the title. Rollins may cash it in even earlier than that and Reigns may be the one to take it from him. But I just don’t think that Rollins is ready right now to hold the top belt in the company. He has great in ring and mike skills but I think it is just a little soon for him to hold that mantle. But soon Rollins will be the one we look to as the WWE champion…

Dean Ambrose – Ambrose will be a heavyweight champion in due time but right now the I think that he will battle with Rollins for a couple of months. After his feud with Rollins is done I think he will take on someone (probably Barrett) for the IC title and will have a good run with the “other” mid card belt. But expect sometime late next year for Ambrose to have his shot at the most prestigious title in the company. He will be the last of the Shield to hold the title…

The end result of all this is the fact that together or apart the Shield will end up as one of the most memorable trio’s to ever grace a WWE ring. I will remember the way that I on multiple occasions I went from hating the Shield to backing the Shield. The “Hounds of Justice” left their scar on the WWE Universe and I think we have just begun to see what they have to offer in their singles career. So tune in and keep an eye on these three they have some history yet to make!!...

KDoubles Take: My thoughts on the WWE Battleground PPV…

First let’s take a look at the card so far….

Pre Show: Cameron vs Naomi (Singles Match)

PPV: Rusev w/Lana vs. Swagger w/Zeb Colture (Singles Match)

PPV: Ambrose vs. Rollins (Singles Match)

PPV: © AJ Lee vs. Paige (Divas Title Match)

PPV: Bray Wyatt vs. Chris Jericho (Singles Match)

PPV: © The Uso’s vs. The Wyatts (Tag Team Title Match)(2 out of 3 falls match)

PPV: (20 Man Battle Royal for the IC Title)

PPV: © Cena vs. Kane vs. Orton vs. Reigns (WWE World Heavyweight Championship Title Match)(Fatal-4-Way)

Pre Show: Cameron vs. Naomi – This is one of those matches that when you see it on the card you know exactly why it is a Pre Show Match. The split of the Funkadactyls was a little bitter sweet for me because I enjoyed the girls working together. But seeing that Naomi is the more athletic and polished in ring, I just can’t really see Cameron getting the win. Winner: Naomi…

PPV: Rusev w/Lana vs. Swagger w/Z.Colture – This is a matchup that I am looking forward to watching. Not only because of the USA/Russia angle but because these two guys are great in ring and will put on one heck of a show. The promos leading up to this matchup have been epic and if Swagger and Rusev can deliver the match they have built up to this one may blow the roof off the place as the Russian loses for the 1st time!! Winner: Swagger…

PPV: Ambrose vs. Rollins – Another match that has been so well built up that I feel like it could be up for match of the night. Both of these guys can tear the house down with their talent so I can definitely expect a great match. But Ambrose seems to be the one getting the push right now so I would expect him to get the win on Sunday!! Winner: Rollins…

PPV: © AJ Lee vs. Paige – These two ladies should have feuded a long time ago…but they didn’t and they really haven’t even feuded now. Both girls have exchanged pleasentries in recent weeks but I don’t buy either girl so I should expect some kind of turn for one of them. I think It will be Paige after the loss that flips out and beats down AJ post match. Winner: © AJ Lee

PPV: Bray Wyatt vs. Chris Jericho – Now Wyatt and Jericho have been going back and forth for the past couple of weeks. The winners in all of this has been the WWE Universe as we have got to witness some of the greatest promo’s and best beat downs on WWE TV in a long time. I expect this to be a classic match but for Wyatt to come out the victor as the ultimate heel!! Winner: Bray Wyatt…

PPV: © The Uso’s vs. The Wyatts – The Uso’s and the Wyatts had one hell of a match to open the last PPV and I expect them to have another at this one. You can give me this match up ten times out of ten and I will watch it. This time around it may be the last hoorah for the tag champs I think it’s time for a change of regime, but it won’t be the last time we see these two face off. Winner: © The Wyatts…

PPV: (20 Man Battle Royal for the IC Title) – This matchup will feature some of the WWE’s best midcarders in an effort to pass the time while the true IC champ BNB heals up. So as for who will be this placeholder I say it come down to three guys Kofi, Cesaro and Sheamus and think Cesaro will come out on top and feud with Kingston for a month or so!! Winner: © Cesaro…

PPV: © Cena vs. Kane vs. Orton vs. Reigns – The main event of the evening should be a doosie and should be held with a lot of suspense. But ultimately Reigns is too green and Kane and Orton just don’t make sense after RAW on Monday because it looks like they are going to feud with each other. So unfortunately I expect Cena to retain and go on to face “Plan C” at Summerslam!! Winner: © Cena…
