KDoubles Take: WWE BattleGround PPV Review…

7 Match Card…

(2 out of 3 Falls Match)(WWE Tag Team Title Match) © The USO’s vs The Wyatts – Winner: © USO’s 2-1 – This match was amazing from open to close, the first fall went to the Wyatt’s and it was deserving they dominated the beginning of the match. The next two falls went to the champs and it was a spectacular match with a lot of high spots for both teams. Can’t wait to see these two go at it again!!!...

(Singles Match)(Grudge Match) Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins – Winner: Rollins via Forfeit – Ambrose attacks Rollins while he is cutting a promo backstage talking about cashing in the MiTB briefcase. This leads to HHH intervening and kicking Ambrose out of the building leading to them moving on to the next match. Rollins comes out later in the PPV and has himself announced as the winner of the match via forfeit. After accepting his win and going to leave Rollins is attacked by Ambrose and they fight into the crowd before Ambrose is escorted out…

(Singles Match)(Divas Title Match) © AJ Lee vs. Paige – Winner:  © AJ Lee via Pin fall – This match was two things a) fun to watch both girls definitely had some great spots  and gave it their all to have a good match and b) This feud is far from over as I see these two making for a nice resurgence of the Diva’s division…

(Singles Match)(Grudge Match) Alexander Rusev w/Lana vs. Jack Swagger w/Zeb Colture – Winner: Rusev via Coutout – This was a great match wit watch and the ending was a little bit chilling. Rusev knocked out Swagger outside the ring, as Swagger had the Patriot lock applied Rusev flung him into the ring post which allowed Rusev to get back in the ring before the 10 count. Post match Rusev put Swagger in the accolade to punish him…

(Singles Match)(Grudge Match) Bray Wyatt vs. Chris Jericho – Winner: Jericho via Pin Fall – This match was amazing as both of these guys left it on the line. It took staying resilient and the eventual code breaker for the great Y2J to pull off this victory. This was a match for the ages as I will tell you that this is not the end of this feud and I for one am excited…

(Battle Royal)(Intercontinental Title Match) 20 Man Battle Royal for the IC Title – Winner: © The Miz – This was a match that was chaotic from the beginning and that was what made it so fun to watch. It took 8 guys to drop Khali and Kofi had multiple moments in this match which is why he is put in these matches. Kind of like why Shelton Benjamin was in so many ladder matches, he ruled at them, In the end it came down to Ziggler and Sheamus and just when you thought that Ziggy was your new champ the Miz sneaks in and wins becoming the NEW Intercontinental Champion…

(Fatal Four Way Match)(WWE World Heavyweight Championship) © John Cena vs. Randy Orton vs. Kane vs. Roman Reigns – Winner: © Cena via Pin Fall – This was a match that was expected to bring the house down and it did exactly that. There were a lot of great spots and Roman Reigns had another breakout match in the main event of this PPV. Cena managed to survive a tremendous onslaught to hit Orton with a AA on top of Kane that was enough for him to get the three count and retain the titles…

KDoubles Take: Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns…which one is ready for a championship run??

As I take a look back at the past couple of years since the Shield debuted on the main roster. I see a path of destruction that was laid out that included multiple top stars in the company. For a long time this irritated me and I got tired of seeing the Shield destroy wrestler after wrestler in these 3 on 1 and 3 on 3 situations. They destroyed John Cena and the Rock hell they even destroyed the Undertaker and sent him off into the sunset. The Shield at point seemed like a completely unstoppable force, was this trio of wrestlers going to be the most dominant force in the WWE’s history? There was a time when it seemed like that and I was disturbed by the thought of these guys having a long term run as a team. Then here comes the Evolution feud and the in evitable split of the strongest team in the company. This had impact because at the time they seemed as if they were stronger than ever, but alas the “Hounds of Justice” were no more. In my eyes this is a very good thing all three members of the Shield already had their own unique personalities and all three are ready to launch themselves into (hopefully) a successful singles careers. This next list is not in order of how big of a star they are but in order of when I think they will get the title run each of them deserves…

Roman Reigns – My thoughts on this are simple Reigns is the 1st one really put into the Main Event picture when he won the Battle Royal to secure his spot in the MiTB WWE WHC match. Now don’t get me wrong this won’t be any time in the near future. Reigns will go through a couple more main event feuds against people like John Cena and Randy Orton, ect before he finally gets his title shot. That title shot will come early next year as Reigns will finally have his Wrestlemania moment!!!

Seth Rollins (Mr. Money in the Bank) – Rollins will wait until the right moment to cash in his MiTB briefcase, that moment will be Wrestlemainia 31!! Right after Reigns has his big moment beating whoever they have him face for the title. Rollins may cash it in even earlier than that and Reigns may be the one to take it from him. But I just don’t think that Rollins is ready right now to hold the top belt in the company. He has great in ring and mike skills but I think it is just a little soon for him to hold that mantle. But soon Rollins will be the one we look to as the WWE champion…

Dean Ambrose – Ambrose will be a heavyweight champion in due time but right now the I think that he will battle with Rollins for a couple of months. After his feud with Rollins is done I think he will take on someone (probably Barrett) for the IC title and will have a good run with the “other” mid card belt. But expect sometime late next year for Ambrose to have his shot at the most prestigious title in the company. He will be the last of the Shield to hold the title…

The end result of all this is the fact that together or apart the Shield will end up as one of the most memorable trio’s to ever grace a WWE ring. I will remember the way that I on multiple occasions I went from hating the Shield to backing the Shield. The “Hounds of Justice” left their scar on the WWE Universe and I think we have just begun to see what they have to offer in their singles career. So tune in and keep an eye on these three they have some history yet to make!!...

KDoubles Take: My thoughts on the WWE Battleground PPV…

First let’s take a look at the card so far….

Pre Show: Cameron vs Naomi (Singles Match)

PPV: Rusev w/Lana vs. Swagger w/Zeb Colture (Singles Match)

PPV: Ambrose vs. Rollins (Singles Match)

PPV: © AJ Lee vs. Paige (Divas Title Match)

PPV: Bray Wyatt vs. Chris Jericho (Singles Match)

PPV: © The Uso’s vs. The Wyatts (Tag Team Title Match)(2 out of 3 falls match)

PPV: (20 Man Battle Royal for the IC Title)

PPV: © Cena vs. Kane vs. Orton vs. Reigns (WWE World Heavyweight Championship Title Match)(Fatal-4-Way)

Pre Show: Cameron vs. Naomi – This is one of those matches that when you see it on the card you know exactly why it is a Pre Show Match. The split of the Funkadactyls was a little bitter sweet for me because I enjoyed the girls working together. But seeing that Naomi is the more athletic and polished in ring, I just can’t really see Cameron getting the win. Winner: Naomi…

PPV: Rusev w/Lana vs. Swagger w/Z.Colture – This is a matchup that I am looking forward to watching. Not only because of the USA/Russia angle but because these two guys are great in ring and will put on one heck of a show. The promos leading up to this matchup have been epic and if Swagger and Rusev can deliver the match they have built up to this one may blow the roof off the place as the Russian loses for the 1st time!! Winner: Swagger…

PPV: Ambrose vs. Rollins – Another match that has been so well built up that I feel like it could be up for match of the night. Both of these guys can tear the house down with their talent so I can definitely expect a great match. But Ambrose seems to be the one getting the push right now so I would expect him to get the win on Sunday!! Winner: Rollins…

PPV: © AJ Lee vs. Paige – These two ladies should have feuded a long time ago…but they didn’t and they really haven’t even feuded now. Both girls have exchanged pleasentries in recent weeks but I don’t buy either girl so I should expect some kind of turn for one of them. I think It will be Paige after the loss that flips out and beats down AJ post match. Winner: © AJ Lee

PPV: Bray Wyatt vs. Chris Jericho – Now Wyatt and Jericho have been going back and forth for the past couple of weeks. The winners in all of this has been the WWE Universe as we have got to witness some of the greatest promo’s and best beat downs on WWE TV in a long time. I expect this to be a classic match but for Wyatt to come out the victor as the ultimate heel!! Winner: Bray Wyatt…

PPV: © The Uso’s vs. The Wyatts – The Uso’s and the Wyatts had one hell of a match to open the last PPV and I expect them to have another at this one. You can give me this match up ten times out of ten and I will watch it. This time around it may be the last hoorah for the tag champs I think it’s time for a change of regime, but it won’t be the last time we see these two face off. Winner: © The Wyatts…

PPV: (20 Man Battle Royal for the IC Title) – This matchup will feature some of the WWE’s best midcarders in an effort to pass the time while the true IC champ BNB heals up. So as for who will be this placeholder I say it come down to three guys Kofi, Cesaro and Sheamus and think Cesaro will come out on top and feud with Kingston for a month or so!! Winner: © Cesaro…

PPV: © Cena vs. Kane vs. Orton vs. Reigns – The main event of the evening should be a doosie and should be held with a lot of suspense. But ultimately Reigns is too green and Kane and Orton just don’t make sense after RAW on Monday because it looks like they are going to feud with each other. So unfortunately I expect Cena to retain and go on to face “Plan C” at Summerslam!! Winner: © Cena…

KDoubles Take: The US and Intercontinental Champions and the MANY Contenders to the crown…

This time around I take a look at what I think are two of the most important belts in the WWE. The reason I think that is because these belts should be held by people that are going to be in line to hold the most precious title in the company…the WWE World Heavyweight Championship currently held by Daniel Bryan. Currently these belts are on wrestlers who not only give the belt credibility because they defend it so often against some of the top guys in the company. So let’s start by looking at the champions and what they bring to the table…

(WWE United States Heavyweight Champion) Sheamus: When we think about the Celtic Warrior it seems like forever ago since he last competed for the big prize. But it has been at least a year or so since the last time we saw Sheamus compete for the WWE Title. I think that as a former WWE Champion and World Heavyweight champion Sheamus brings some much needed attention to the belt and credibility after leaving it on Dean Ambrose so long that the WWE Universe pretty much forgot about it…

(WWE Intercontinental Champion) Bad News Barrett: For all of you who think that Wade Barrett is going to be dropping the IC title anytime soon?? Then to quote Barrett himself “I’m afraid I’ve got some BAD NEWS!!” Wade is slowly becoming one of my favorite bad guys in the company; his tag phrase is definitely starting to grow on me. Outside of all of that the Barrett is a former contender for the WWE title and is main event material. I expect him to have a long run with the title and when he dose drop it he will be being inserted into the Heavyweight championship picture immediately…

Now the more you look up and down the roster there are a lot of guys that I think that are deserving of a shot at one or both of these titles. The 1st 2 that I will look at are the ones who are currently under #1 contender’s status as far as these two titles go (RVD and Cesaro). After that I will look at guys who either should be in line nest or in the near future guys like former IC and US and Tag Champ Kofi Kingston or maybe former IC Champ Big E Langston, newcomer Alexander Rusev would make a decent opponent for either of the champs!! And to be truth full there are 2 superstars that need to have belts around their waist soon are Brey Wyatt and Dolph Ziggler. But for now let’s get to those #1 contenders I was talking about…

(#1 Contender for the US Title) Cesaro: Cesaro is one that I expect to compete for the US Title but there is no real reason for him to win the title. The feud that he and current champion Sheamus are having is enough to put the title on the map again. Cesaro is destined for higher rings on the brass ladder. With Paul Heyman on his side I expect Cesaro to be competing very soon for a WWE Heavyweight Championship match and possibly a small run with the title. But as for the US Title he will not be winning it anytime soon…

(#1 Contender for the IC Title) RVD: With RVD he is just like Cesaro to me but for different reasons. RVD’s stints with the WWE recently haven’t been for long, so that says to me that he won’t be winning the IC title from Barrett!! We will get a chance to see them compete in a series of high quality matches between the two skilled athletes. Unfortunately I just don’t see a title run in RVD’s future for this particular stint with the company…

And the next tiers of contenders to the throne are…

Kofi Kingston (Former US, IC and Tag Champ): Kofi has just been in Kind of a tailspin in recent months, he just recently got beaten by Bo Dallas on Monday Night RAW. Before that he was beaten to a pulp by Kane at the Payback PPV, so it doesn’t look as if he will be getting a title shot anytime soon. But I think he deserves one because he is one of the best in ring workers that the company has. OS really even if they done give him the title a feud with either Barrett or Sheamus would make Kofi relevant again…

Big E Langston (Former IC Champ, Former NXT Hvywght Chmp): Big E is someone that is currently involved in a top level feud right now with Rusev. Because of that neither man is currently in line for a title shot at either title. But if anything the Feud with Rusev should put Big E in line for at least one of these titles with Rusev of course being in line for the other. But I think a feud with Big E and Bad News Barett would just be fun for the fans even if Big E doesn’t win back the title…

Alexander Rusev (Newcomer from NXT): Rusev is currently on a impressive win streak that includes wins over Kofi, Big E and R-Truth. That list alone should be enough to get him a title match for one of these titles very soon and if he keeps running thru competition the way that he has I do expect him to win one of these two (Most likely the US Title) titles very soon. But for now he will continue to build his reputation as the “Bulgarian Brute”!!!...

Bray Wyatt (Leader of the Wyatt Family): Bray Wyatt has been a favorite of the WWE Universe since he arrived. But yet he has ot been able to find his way into a title match of any kind!! He is a great in ring wrestler and almost every match I have ever witnessed. I can see him being the one to unify the US and the IC titles. But my overall point is that Wyatt is relevant without a title to give him a feud for one of these two titles would just draw more attention to that title!...

Dolph Ziggler (Best seller in the company): Dolph once again is in a similar boat to Kofi Kingston. Dolph is just under used for as talented as he is… He should have been a world champ… He should have been main eventing!!! But alas Ziggler has been let down and left to go out there and not make a difference at all. But you could change all of that by giving Ziggler a small run with one of these two belts then almost immediately insert him into a feud for the biggest championship in the game today…the WWE World Heavyweight Championship…
